Cáceres, March 15, 2023 – Wenea, a leading independent provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging services in Spain, and Gamma Solutions, an engineering and innovation company that develops products, solutions, and services in the fields of energy and telecommunications, have jointly developed Wenea On Camera, a revolutionary project aimed at ensuring a secure and controllable environment at charging stations.
By leveraging advancements in hardware technology and the increasing availability of data and open-source libraries, Wenea On Camera has developed a video analysis system based on Deep Learning (AI) capable of accurately detecting, identifying, and classifying characters, objects, and events.
The primary goal of this project is to enhance the charging experience by offering users a more intelligent and personalized solution. Wenea On Camera has implemented several innovative features that are set to change the way we interact with charging stations. Some key characteristics of the system include:
License plate detection and reading: With its advanced optical character recognition (OCR) technology, the system can precisely and efficiently identify and read vehicle license plates.
Two-way communication through real-time voice recognition: Through its real-time voice recognition capability, Wenea On Camera enables seamless and secure communication between the system and the user, thus improving the charging experience.
Motion detection: The system is equipped with motion detection algorithms that ensure constant and effective surveillance, alerting to any suspicious activity at the charging stations.
Event and danger analytics: By utilizing artificial intelligence, the system can analyze potentially dangerous events and situations, providing users with a safer environment.
This ambitious project has been made possible thanks to the financial support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Commission and the Government of Extremadura.
